Dexter Axle TD7085EZ 7000 lbs. capacity 4" Drop trailer axle beam with E-Z Lube spindles.

Specs:

  • 90.75" Overall Length
  • 85" Hub Face
  • 76.25" Brake Flange to Flange
  • 65" min to 69.25" max spring centers tolerance

Comes with spindle nuts, nut retainers, and washers. 4" drop axles allow the trailer to sit lower to the ground. Lower deck height means easier loading and unloading. This is mainly used for enclosed trailers and applications like car haulers or low-deck trailers, where low ground clearance loading is needed or desired.

Axle beam is round tube and tube diameter is 3". Axle beam is pre-wired to accept electric brakes. Our 7000 lbs. capacity axle beam comes standard with 5-bolt studded brake mounting flange that is compatible with all standard 12" trailer brakes. Axle takes standard 1-1/4"ID outer bearing, 1-3/4"ID inner bearing and 2.250"ID grease seal - sold separately.

The difference between a 5200 lbs., 6000 lbs., and 7000 lbs. axle beam is tube wall thickness. We order ours in with the thicker option and have a max capacity rating of 7000 lbs.. Most trailer builders these days are building with this tube wall thickness which makes these beams a more universal fit. The components from all 3 weight classes will interchange with these beams whether you are reusing existing components or replacing with new.

Axle is designed to be used with sprung type suspensions. Comes with leaf spring seats loose that can be welded in place depending on location and beam tolerances. Spring seats can be installed either under-slung meaning spring seats used on underside of tube, or over-slung meaning spring seats used on top of tube body. Having the spring seats come not pre-installed makes this axle beam more universal than hoping to find one with the seats welded in the correct position.

Axle has a camber arch in the center, the upward bend in the axle is called "camber." Camber is the angular relationship of the wheel to the road surface in the vertical plane. Axles are built with a pre-determined camber in the tube that compensates for the expected deflection under load.
